April 2006 PEM UK Announce Partnership with Anixter Industrial

PEM UK Ltd has announced a strategic partnership with Anixter Industrial, in which Anixter Industrial will take responsibility for the majority of UK PEMÒ brand customers.

Part of the global PennEngineering Group, PEM UK Ltd (formerly known as Arconix UK Ltd) is working closely with Anixter Industrial to increase market coverage of PEMÒ brand fasteners throughout the UK, as well as providing superior service to existing customers.

As a leading UK distributor of fasteners and industrial consumables, Anixter Industrial were originally approached in May 2005 to discuss the collaboration, based on their nationwide distribution network and technical product expertise.

The new partnership was officially launched on 3rd January 2006, in a move that allows PEM UK Ltd to focus on further developing relationships with core Automotive, OEM and global CEM customers.

Operating out of the Anixter Industrial Head Office in Derbyshire, a dedicated team has been established in order to service and provide support to a database of nearly 1000 existing PEM UK Ltd customers.  These customers currently buy products from the range of PEM® brand self-clinching fasteners, although the new partnership deal will provide further opportunities for customer benefit through access to the entire Anixter Group range of products and services.

“The most important thing for us right now is to ensure that the transition is as smooth as possible for the existing PEM® brand customers”, says Erica Kirk, Anixter Industrial Business Manager.  “Once this transition period is complete, we aim to working closely with these customers in order to understand their business needs, and identify the areas in which the Anixter Total Supply Management concept can provide real benefit to them”.
